They say the perk of being a teacher is you get to have extended vacation compared to other professions. We, teachers, get to experience quite a mouthful of vacations (think about it, sembreak, Christmas vacation, and summer vacation). Oh and by the way, these are paid vacation folks. Isn't it great to become a teacher?
Well, not really.
June 15 is taking longer than expected, with each passing day taking forever to finish! I've been doing some paperwork because quite frankly, I am excited to teach this coming June. Being a bum isn't exactly a preference because I'd rather be busy than be bored. In any case, I'm almost done preparing for my lessons for the first two weeks...
Ok, now that I remember...
The primary reason why I want to work is because it distracts me from the problems that I face elsewhere aside from school. To be frank, I really do not look forward to going home. Actually I wouldn't call it a home... rather it's only a house for me. A home is where you're supposed to be comfortable at but due to unforeseen circumstances, I'm at a position to say that things are not turning out so well. I cannot divulge in full detail what the problem is exactly but whatever the case, I'm going to support my family for the next 3 weeks. My parents did something wrong, but i will do my very best to support them in their current endeavors.

Introduction
Good day and welcome to my first entry here. As you know (though I doubt that you do), I am currently teaching at a Chinese-Filipino school named Uno High School, which is found at Manila. A year ago, I was hired at a time where finding a management-related job is like finding a needle in a haystack. This can be attributed to me being a so-so graduate bordering mediocrity due to my sub-par or non-existent achievements at college; no awards whatsoever and people hardly knowing me or even my course...
Person A : What's your course?
Me: MAC
Person A: What's that?
Me: Management of Applied Chemistry...
Person A: Wow, big time...
Me: ...(right)....
High expectations were demanded from my course and I believed i failed to achieve some of these expectations. Heck, I even had to actively halt any quarrels or qualms amongst my groupmates then.
Regardless, I don't really need to bother college life because there were more cons than pros in my opinion. Fastforward to the subject matter at hand...
Being a teacher, at first, isn't a top-most priority as a career path. This is largely because of the financial opportunity that a teaching job has, or doesn't have. I have numerous friends who have ventured at the jungle known as the corporate world and sad to say, not everyone is completely happy with their job. With that, it gives me relief that a teacher, regardless of the monetary compensation, is a career that I will be enjoying for quite some time.
The primary reasons why I started this blog is simple:
1.) I want to share my experiences to future or soon-to-be teachers; from my ever-so-existent tirades with my students to the little gifts the children of tomorrow can give. For the young educators like I am, even though you would feel a lack of self-motivation from your job, do remember your primary goal as a teacher: bestow life values upon your students for them to grow into wonderful ladies and gentlemen.
2.) I want to tell people how noble being a teacher is. Decades ago, a teacher is highly revered, regardless of social class (as my mentor said, even the barangay captains before took the time to bow their heads whenever in presence of a teacher). Whatever respect people have for teachers, that is what I hope to return, because quite frankly, not everyone respects or values the role of a teacher.
and finally...
3.) I want to tell the world that if we do want change, it has to come from the young generation. Being a teacher, that will be my job this coming school year; to make sure that they realize and actualize their potential as a student capable of dreaming and doing many things in life.
I have to admit that my writing still lacks insight. Eventually, I hope to provide better content so that from time to time, you would hopefully learn a few tidbits of what it is to become a young educator.
